In my previous blog we have discussed about matter.Matter is made of many tiny particles called atoms...now w'll discuss about Atom and its structural concept.
Atom-
Atom is the basic unit of chemistry.It consist of a dense core i.e.Atomic nucleus and it is sorrounded by a space called electron cloud(outer space).Nucleus is consist of positively charged proton an neutral charge neutron.
both neutron and protons are collectively called as nucleons, while the electron cloud made of negetively charged electrons.
Stucture of carbon atom is given below:
Elements-All matter, such as solids, liquids and gases, is composed of atoms. Any material that is composed of only one type of atom is called a chemical element, a basic element, or just an element. An atom is the smallest particle of any element that still retains the characteristics of that element.A piece of an element that we are able to see is made of many, many atoms and all atoms are the same...they all have the same number of protons.For example..hydrogen and oxygen are the elements which are made of 2 same type of atoms..but water is a compound which is made of two differenet atoms hydrogen and oxygen..
In my Upcoming blog w'll talk about some more concept like electron,proton,neutron etc..
